Wa alaikum Salam and many thanks for your note through sms. I must confess I am thrilled to see this website. Since in the past I have also been involved in training our fellow journalists I know for sure that we, the Pakistani journalists, are truly lacking in the use of new technologies. Today in the west and elsewhere almost every journalist has his/her own weblog, and every photojournalist has his/her own photoblog. And when any of their story/opinion piece is killed they publish it online. This however seems a task too onerous for the Pakistani mediapersons. In this context there is exigent need to teach them the important use of critical and yet simple devices like free online weblog services and other online publishing tools. I hope your this venture can help all of us a great deal in bolstering our skills. Websites like Blogger.com (unfortunately banned in Pakistan), Msn spaces and eSnips.com (the service that provides upto 1 GB blogging space) can be of great help.
However if a few more features are added to the journalist section it may really revolutionise the way our community works. For instance, there are some journalists who are publishing their own weblogs and surely there would be many others to join the community soon. If a list of such sites is published on this site in separate section it would be very beneficial. Likewise, there is an urgent need to introduce language style guides for the benefit of the journalists. I really wish such a section could also be created. A voluntary database on the names and profiles of journalists across the country would also boost the effort with perhaps a CV bank so that the organisations in need for appropriate staff can find what they need. And last but not the least an XML-RSS feature so that whenever the website has a new update all members know immediately through RSS readers. I am not sure whether vBulletin caters to this need or not but most of the bulletin board softwares do.
Finally I would like to congratulate you on this simultaneously zonking and elating project and promise that whatever service needed on my behalf will be forthcoming without much ado.

Your suggestions about creating sections for journalists' weblogs and guides of journalists' language style have been noted, and if the need arises in the future, we will certainly launch these sections.

I agree with the fact that it is rare to find a weblog of a Pakistani journalist. We will do our best to teach Pakistani journalists community the creation, management and promotion of weblogs.
